So what does the humble fuse do?

The fuse is a type of over-current fail-safe. This protects the car wiring against power surges etc.

Car fuses are a crucial part of a power distribution system to prevent fire or damage. When too much current flows through any wire, it overheats and can even start a fire.

It's essential component is the metal wire or strip that melts when too much current flows. This then disconnects the circuit in which it is connected, thereby protecting the circuit's other components from damage due to excessive current.

It would be better to buy a pack of fuses from us,cheaply, to replace one of your car fuses than have a big bill for costly electrical work to your car.



If you have the correctly rated car fuses they allow the normal current to pass, but quickly interrupt a short circuit or overload condition.
